Wright Middle School 3/29/17

We had an excellent week back from our Spring Breaks at Wright Middle School. We had a smaller group than we've had, mostly due to the production of Aladdin drawing away a lot of our kids, but we still managed to have a good time and get through a lot of reading! Because it was so beautiful outside, we wanted to go out in the sun and read together while we enjoyed some popcorn, courtesy of Ms. Romanowski.

Because we want to start filming our book trailer next week, we wanted to get through as much of El Deafo as we could, so we didn't have enough time for a creative piece this week. We still managed to have a lot of fun and, because we were outside, we had the chance to be more animated and get in to the characters of the book more often than we have in the past. We also put in an order for books so that these scholars get the chance to take home a free book from our time together! Next time, we'll finish El Deafo, and get started on filming, which the kids seem really excited about.

Our scholar of the week is Kevin, pictured above on the left. Though he's usually a quiet kid in the classroom, he's an excellent reader, as well as being a leader outside of our time together. He's also taken on the role of director for our book trailer, so we can't wait to see where he takes it. Good job Kevin!
