Our first Read and Play Saturday of the 2015-2016 school year was a great success! We started the day by illustrating our interests in the shape of our names. We took selfies with our name tags, and Dr. Pendergrass introduced some of the things we’ll be doing this year.
Over the course of the morning, we picked out books to take home, spent time reading our books, and completed an interview on reading. We also worked together to write a story, adding one sentence at a time. In the end, the main players in the story were a plague, a hippo, and a goldfish.
After collaborating on the story, we ate snacks, played outside, learned about the books that we’ll read together, built objects using construction paper, and danced! We're all looking forward to next week!
